You and I were created for eternity. Where will you spend eternity? Heaven or hell? No middle ground.
Will it be eternal life in heaven or eternal death in hell for you?
1. Two Questions:
a) If you were to die tonight, will you go to heaven?
YES – then go to question (b)
NO or NOT SURE – would you like to know how to get into heaven?
1 John 5:13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
b) When you stand at the gates of heaven and God asked you, “Why should I let you in to My heaven?” what would be your answer?
2. Our Condition:
Many think they are okay, but the Bible reveals our true condition.
a) Romans 3:23 – we are all __________
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
b) Ephesians 2:1 – we are all ________________
1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins
c) Isaiah 59:2 – we are all ______________________
2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.
d) Luke 13:3, 5 – we will all _________
3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.
There’s nothing we can do to save ourselves from our miserable condition.
3. Our Way of Salvation:
Those who become aware of their condition try many wrong ways to be saved.
a) _____________________ ____________________ (see Ephesians 2:8, 9)
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith– and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–
9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
b) ___________________________ [baptism, communion, going to church, doing other religious practices] (see John 8:44 Jesus speaking to the religious Jews)
44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
c) ___________________________ the 10 Commandments (see Galatians 2:16)
16 know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified.
4. God’s Way of Salvation:
God has already provided a way for our salvation. This way is a person – none other than His one and only Son, Jesus Christ!
John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
What did Jesus do for me?
1 Pet 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
How can I receive salvation?
Repent of all my sins (Luke 13:3, 5)
Receive the Lord Jesus Christ as my own personal Saviour and Lord.
John 1:12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God
Acts 20:21 I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.
Can you remember a time when you truly repented of all your sins and receive Jesus to be your Saviour and Lord?
If not, why don’t you talk to God now and repent of your sins, then receive the Lord Jesus to be your personal Saviour and Lord.
“Dear God, I am a sinner and need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sin on the cross and that after three days, He rose again from the dead. I repent of all my sin and am willing to turn from my sin. I now invite Jesus Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Saviour and Lord. Amen!”
